My Favourite Photo in Ages: Singing Pure Joy

Argentina’s north was a treat and a half, a great part of the reason being the beautiful Salta.  While there, I soon heard about peña “La Casona Molino,” one of several in town in which to get your fingers strumming in time to the beat of local folk music and throw back several empanadas in the process.  The night I was there the music was provided by the insanely talented gentleman below; an exotic Bolivian/Argentinian meld whose guitar had soon gathered a crowd of colourful old local gentlemen with a lifetime of stories in their eyes.  All decked out in banged up old hats, smoking pipes or chewing coca leaves, their table was the giddiest in the place…a collection of golden oldies drumming away on the solid wooden surface and singing loudly in and out of time with the music.
