How to Make Honeydew Melon Ice Frappes (Or, I Wish Summer Would Hurry Up)

Largely because it’s winter in Chile (and I’m often dressed as a veritable sheep, there’s so much woolen clothing to be had), I’ve started remembering the wonder that are apricots, cherries, watermelons and honeydews…and craving juice like no one’s business.

I made this frappe of life on an almost daily basis throughout summer and it brought instant happiness with each and every vibrant green slurp.

For those in the northern hemisphere; enjoy! For the rest of us; this is what’s waiting on the other side of winter…

Holy Hell Honeydew Melon Ice Frappe

Fruity Weapons of Awesome
  1. One melon
  2. Tall-ish glass of water
  3. Ice
Do This
  1. De-seed melon. Scoop out the flesh (and dice you’re feeling fancy). Chuck it in the blender.
  2. Add water and ice. Blend thoroughly.
  3. Makes four glasses.

Seriously, if the superbly light green colour fit for a fairy’s ball gown doesn’t get you, the taste will. No sugar necessary – the melon packs a pretty sweet punch.

Best of all, if you’re not a melon fan (though, who isn’t?) then just about any summer fruit can substitute. Think mango, peach, nectarine, plum…

If this isn’t the ambrosia of the Gods, then I don’t know what is.
